Initial situation
The city of Zug was confronted with the need to expand the recreational offerings along the lake and facilitate the spontaneous use of public spaces by its citizens. The challenge was to develop a user-friendly and efficient solution. Citizens should be able to use recreational equipment without cumbersome rental processes or constant monitoring.
Use of our solution
The city of Zug opted for an innovative use of the already established eZug app. The "Out of the Box" project enables citizens to borrow leisure equipment free of charge. Sports equipment and games are stored in a specially developed box located directly by the lake. Using the eZug app, users can simply select the items and open the box to gain access. This process has been designed to be user-friendly and secure, encouraging spontaneous use by the community.
Result
Since its launch, "Out of the Box" has experienced a high usage rate. The availability of recreational equipment has invigorated the local community and provides a practical solution for spontaneous activities. The integration of the service into the eZug app has increased accessibility and ease of use, providing positive feedback from users of all ages.
The platform has not only improved the leisure offer in the city, but also encourages social interactions and strengthens the sense of community. By providing such a resource, the city of Zug is helping to make public spaces more attractive and accessible.
