Starting point and challenge
Many residents and visitors to the city of Zug found it difficult to purchase a parking card in a timely manner, especially outside of normal administrative opening hours. This led to inconvenience and parking tickets, as the traditional method of purchasing parking permits was not flexible enough to meet the needs of users.
Set-up and how our solution works
To address this problem, the city of Zug integrated a digital parking ticketing feature into its eZug app. This function allows users to simply enter the license plate number of their own vehicle or that of a guest, select the desired time period and receive the parking permit digitally immediately after payment. The digital parking permit is stored directly in the app and does not require any physical proof in the vehicle.
Result and outlook
The introduction of the digital parking card in the eZug app has led to a significant increase in user satisfaction. They can now buy parking tickets quickly and easily anytime and anywhere, which is particularly practical for spontaneous visits or unexpected guests. The city of Zug has also achieved a reduction in administrative costs and a reduction in paper waste, as physical parking cards are no longer necessary.
